Voting by mail remains more popular in 2022 than it was pre-pandemic, according to new data. Election Day in-person voting rebounded from the pandemic lows of 2020. The age distribution of poll workers increased in 2022, with most poll workers being 61 years old or older. Some Republicans have spent the last several years criticizing mail-in voting and telling their voters to head to the polls on Election Day. report: Almost a third of votes were cast by mail last year, compared to about a quarter of votes in 2018. The report also found that the share of ballots cast early in- person returned to 2018 levels after spiking in 2020. elections are held on November 4, with a majority of voters casting their ballots in the U.S. by mail or before Election Day, the report says. In 2020, amid the Pandemic, voting by mail was the most popular way to cast a ballot, with about a third out of every 1,000 votes cast. In 2022, nearly half of voters cast their ballots on Election day, making it the most common way for voters to participate in the 2022 midterms. That was the case in 2018 as well, when a majorities of voters voted in the midterms by mail and early in person, the study says. It’s “highly likely that voter mode is a habit-forming choice as well,” says a researcher for the company that conducted the report. “If you vote once, you are quite likely to vote again in future elections,” says Lindsay Nielson, a senior researcher for Elections Administration and Voting Survey. The 2022 election will be the first since 2008, which was the last year of the last pandemic, the EAC says. The election will take place between November 4 and November 6, 2022. The U.K. will hold its next election on November 7, 2018. It will be held on the same day as the 2022 midterm elections, which are scheduled for November 4. The next election will also be held in the same year as the 2020 midterms, which were held in November 8.
