The special grand jury in Fulton County investigating the presidential election in Georgia recommended charges against Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and former GOP Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler . Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis did not charge the lawmakers when she returned an indictment last month against former President Donald Trump and codefendants in the sprawling racketeering case . It was up to the district attorney to decide how closely to stick to the special grand jurys recommendations . The senators have denied any wrongdoing related to the election . Graham defended making the phone calls to Georgia election officials saying that he had questions and that it would be irresponsible as . chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee to not ask them. I never asked Raffensperger to set aside ballots or anything else Graham told reporters at a South Carolina event. He added that he thought he was a good president. He said he is standing with President Trump. He can be a lot at times but I thought he would be a good President Graham said. He believes he is a good presidential nominee .
