Judge Chutkan says Trump’s right to free speech in January 6 case is ‘

US District Judge Tanya Chutkan said that she plans to put limits over how sensitive evidence is handled in the Donald Trump election interference case . The former president has a right to free speech but that right is not absolute in a criminal case such as this one the defendants free speech is subject to the rules . Trump pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges related to his efforts to overturn the presidential election last week and the judge warned Trump about any possible intimidation of witnesses . The judge adopted restrictions proposed by prosecutors that would bar Trump from publicly disclosing information from interview transcripts and recordings from the investigation including from witness interviews with investigators that took place outside of the grand jury . The special counsel said Thursday it wants the trial to begin on January a date that Trump rejected in a social media post . Trump also wrote in an allcaps post that Trump had rejected in the social media posts that he had previously suggested that the trial should start on January 14 . The trial is expected to begin in January a month after he was indicted last week but the judge said he would not be allowed to use that date to discuss or share his social media accounts during the investigation . Trump has denied that he would be indicted in a public hearing on January 15. The judge has been accused of trying to get a fair trial in the case. Trump also slammed Chutkkan in his allcaps and wrote in allcaps in all caps. The special prosecutor said in all capitals.
