Former President Donald Trump plans to turn himself in Thursday at Fulton County jail in Atlanta Georgia . Trump has turned his humiliations from a previous trio of indictments into grist for his campaign theme that he is a victim of political persecution . The Georgia indictment could be particularly troublesome to Trump because any powers to freeze proceedings or even pardon himself that hed regain if elected president next year would only apply if convicted in federal cases . Tough terms included in Trumps bond agreement were noticeably tougher than minimal conditions imposed by a federal court in Washington the Manhattan District Attorneys Office and under a federal judge in Florida in three separate cases . Trump had to agree for example to make no threats on social media against codefendants witnesses and the unindicted coconspirators . It was not immediately clear whether Trump would put up the cash for bond himself or whether hed seek to finance it through one of his political fundraising committees that hes used to pay some of his legal bills and those of his own legal bills . The terms of his bond agreement are not necessarily fair and did not infringe on the terms were fair . Any judge in Georgia is certainly aware of the history of defendants come before them and certainly is aware of this history of such postings .
