Jill Scott has announced that she’ll be back on the road next year. The tour will play in over 20 markets across the country. Scott will also have special multi-show residencies in Washington, D.C. at the MGM National Harbor. Pre-sales for Scott’s tour will begin Dec. 6, and it will kick off in February in Augusta, GA at the Bell Auditorium.”My band and I were so excited three years ago, but that damn COVID shut us down,” Scott said in a press release. “Now, we outside! Come see me. Come feel again. Relive your favorite moments. Ya’ll ready to settle down and get with this?!? It’s a lot of love here,” the singer said in the release. The North Philadelphia native released her debut record in July 2000. It went double platinum album and earned her several Grammy nominations, including best new artist (2001), best R&B album (2001) and best female R&b vocal performance for three years in a row (2001-2003) The tour, produced by Live Nation Urban, will start in February and end in June. It will feature a fundraiser at the Arden Theatre in support of Scott’s non-profit, the Blues Babe Foundation. It marks the first time the North Philadelphianative will play at The MET Philadelphia. It is also Scott’s first time playing at the National Harbor on Mother’s Day weekend and Scott’s hometown of Philadelphia at TheMET Philadelphia. She will also play at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on June 14. The concert will be Scott’s 20th anniversary of the release of “Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol I” The tour was forced to end prematurely due to the pandemic, but it will resume in 2013 and 2014. It’s scheduled to kick off on February 4, 2013. The tour is scheduled to end on June 16, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia at theBell Auditorium, and ends on June 17, 2013 at the Met Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. It will also feature a stop in Washington on June 18, 2013, and a stop on June 19, 2013 on the National Mall in Washington D.S. at The Metropolitan. It was Scott’s chart-topping album, “Who is Jill Scott?” The album was released on July 10, 2000, and was a double platinum success. It earned her numerous Grammy nominations. It also earned her a spot on the “Billboard” Hot 100 list of artists to have recorded in the last 20 years.
