Neil Diamond surprised the audience at the Broadway opening of “A Beautiful Noise” with a performance of “Sweet Caroline.”

Neil Diamond sang “Sweet Caroline” at the Broadway opening of his musical. Diamond stopped touring in January 2018 due to his Parkinson’s diagnosis. The rock legend last performed a full concert at the Forum in Los Angeles in August 2017. The musical tracks Diamond’s life, and his path to becoming a successful solo artist. He has sold more than 125 million records and has had more than 70 songs hit the Billboard charts. He sold his song catalog to the Universal Music in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Katie McNeil, and their three children. The show runs through December 15. The theater is located at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York’s SoHo neighborhood.
