Republican candidates confront Trump’s enduring popularity in Iowa with 100 days to go until caucuses .

Iowa once again becomes the focal point of the GOP presidential race with the ambitions of much of the field colliding in the Hawkeye State . Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in particular has approached the state as a mustwin but others increasingly view it as a last stand to demonstrate that a viable alternative to Trump can emerge before its too late . Trump condemned the rocket attacks as an act of savagery and deemed the Biden administration as responsible attempting to connect the attacks to perceptions of leadership abroad . Former Vice President Mike Pence condemned the attack and drew a parallel between support for Israel to support for Ukraine calling out three of his rivals who have questioned ongoing US aid to the country defending itself against Russias invasion . Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was also headed to Iowa this weekend for three campaign stops including meetings with voters in Sioux City Ida Grove and Boone in a series of meetings with the state . The only thing that truly matters is Iowa is Iowa said Pete Snyder a former gubernatorial candidate in Virginia now raising money for DeSantantas . The candidates understand its Iowa or nothing. If you dont win that no one is going anywhere no one will go anywhere, said Jeff Angelo who broadcasts a conservative radio show in Iowas airwaves have rarely felt so acute . The stakes for the caucuses which do not traditionally serve as a kingmaker have rarely feel so acute have rarely been so acute. The Iowa caucuses have rarely become so acute, says Jeff Angelo . For many Republicans Trump is the one of the other candidates. For many Republican presidential candidates. I really havent been involved with any of theother candidates. Im all of the others have made up your mind. I am all Trump all the way. I’m sorry.
