The Broadway musical “The Phantom of the Opera” will extend its run for eight weeks due to high demand, the show’s producers said.

“The Phantom of the Opera” will now run until April 16. The show had been scheduled to close in February. An unexpected bolster in sales helped the show earn $2.2 million last week. “Phantom” features a masked music lover who haunts the Paris Opera House.
